Now that my week-long vacation break is over, the Sunday Table Talk is out.

This week there were two new additions to the coming soon list, one of them is for Loveland.

There was an opening for The Barrel in Estes, for those of you who are heading up there for summer fun. Their website hasn't been updated, so you can find details on their Facebook page.

And then there was another event added to the events list.

A quick update in the middle of my vacation week...

National Get Outdoors Day is on Saturday at City Park from 9-3pm. My network sister blog Growing Up Fort Collins has partnered with the Youth Clinic this summer, and since June is on vacation this week too, I'll be at the event to help out!

Stop by the Youth Clinic booth for a bunch of free fun stuff:

Donut Lodge

Good morning and Happy Donut Day my dearest donut supporters. I am sad to report that we have decided to close our little donut business down. A number of factors have contributed to this decision, the largest of which has been the chronic sleep deprivation that has accumulated over the last four months. Super hard on the family and myself - and a very serious and dangerous problem. To those of you that were part of our crowd-funding effort, we're putting together some extra special packages to say thank you for believing in the vision. We're very sorry - and hope you understand. Cheers!

Although you may find some dryness in some of the selections at Donut Lodge, it’s not enough for me to say “hold up, don’t go.” Instead, I will still gladly continue to stop by and pick up a donut on my way to the canyon, or drag the kids with me for a treat. And if I get a dry one, I’ll dip it in my coffee because it’s more important to me that they succeed than getting the perfect donut right now.

You know how you've all been wondering what on earth was going on with Matador Mexican Grill's 2nd location that's listed in the Sunday Table Talk? It's not that they hadn't been working on negotiations. There were MANY places that they were working on getting into here in Fort Collins.

Lest you forget that finding affordable, workable commercial space in Fort Collins is an epic challenge.

Well, the time has come. Leases have been signed and a 2nd location is now quickly on the way. You'll be able to find them in Centerra next to Super Target.

Soooo, I was hoping this updated review on Vern's Place would be helpful before Memorial Day Weekend for those who had mountain plans.

Anyway, whenever we dry out a bit and you're on your way to some outdoor adventures by LaPorte, Vern's is a classic. They've recently finished some upgrades, including a patio, and I think their food is better than it was 6 years ago when I wrote their initial review.
