Eagle Watch Volunteers! Please join us at NIX for a celebratory end-of-Eagle-Watch-season pizza party! Thanks for all of your hard work this Winter. The celebration will be in the NIX mail office (1745 Hoffman Mill Road, Fort Collins, CO). There will be pizza, treats, and smiles.
Join the expert travel trainers and learn how to safely master using Transfort buses independently and with confidence. We will be taking a bus trip to the Senior Center for a tour of their facility. In our workshop you will learn how to read and understand bus schedules, plan a bus trip and much more.
Note: Interpretation services available with advance notice. Location: South Transit Center 4915 Fossil Blvd. Fort Collins - free parking.

Activity Description: How often have you walked along the Poudre River and found something you'd like to know more about? Whether it's plants, birds, mammals, insects or geology, join naturalist Rob Pickett as we learn more about our natural environment.
Accessibility: Program takes along paved trails, with little elevation change. Program is appropriate for adults. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat/sunglasses, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Trails may be muddy so please wear proper footwear. Binoculars are helpful for identifying birds.
People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations. The Human Relations Commission will be attending a joint meeting with the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery to discuss potential 2026 programs.
This event is an opportunity for CSU students to engage with professionals in the field of natural resources. We are inviting folks from various industries to come share their career journeys while mingling with students over food and refreshments. This is the 4th year hosting the event and it would be great to have any additional folks from City of Fort Collins Natural Areas attend.
Where: Fossil Creek Reservoir - Approximate address is 3340 Carpenter Road. The entrance to Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area is on Carpenter Road/ CR 32, approximately one mile west of I-25, or two miles east of Timberline on the north side of Carpenter Road;
When: February 7, 3:30pm - 5:00pm, drop-in at any time during the program
Accessibility: Accessible parking and restrooms available. Spotting scopes and best eagle viewing are located about 1/4 - 1/2 mile down a gently sloping, paved and ADA accessible trail.
What to Bring: Pets are not permitted at Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area. Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress warmly.
Program Description: Bald eagles from the north make Fort Collins their winter home. They spend nights in communal roosts in cottonwood trees near the reservoir. Volunteer Naturalists are stationed at the viewing pier and explain the eagles’ natural history and help visitors view them through spotting scopes and binoculars.
Drop in any time during these programs. They are free and no registration is required, but if you sign up here you'll receive email reminders and notices of cancellations. If temperatures are below freezing, or it’s windy or foggy, the Eagle Watches may be canceled. Be sure to visit www.fcgov.com/naturalareas for weather cancellations and updates before you go.
Masks will not be required, as this is an outdoor event. However, please practice physical distancing whenever possible. Stay home if you are sick.
