Natural Areas Event: Black-Footed Ferret Exploration

Fri, 2020-10-09 23:00
Explore one of North America’s rarest animals in this unique opportunity. We will journey to Soapstone Prairie for a presentation about the black-footed ferret and then we will hike and search for this elusive resident. 1-2 miles; moderate with uneven terrain. Registration is required and participation is limited to protect the animals. Bring snacks, water, closed-toe shoes, warm layers, binoculars and a flashlight. Unlike previous years, transportation will NOT be provided for this year's event. All participants will need to make their way to Soapstone Prairie in their own vehicles and park in the North parking lot. There will be a slightly longer walk than previous years - but a great opportunity to see the prairie at night. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and physical distancing will be required by any participants and volunteers during this program. No more than 10 people will be present at the program. Program requirements are subject to change as CDC and County guidelines are updated. Additional instructions will be sent by e-mail to those registered prior to the program. Waivers will be required to be signed either online or in person upon arrival. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste/smell, etc.) do not attend this program. Visit https://www.larimer.org/health/communicable-disease/coronavirus-covid-19 for more information.
