When: August 15th, 8-10 p.m. What to Bring: Dress for temperatures 20 degrees cooler than the actual temperature and bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Meet in the parking lot. Pets are not permitted at Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area. Please bring binoculars if you have them! It will make star viewing easier. Program Description: Volunteers from the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society provide telescopes and share their knowledge about the stars, planets, galaxies, and more. Teen Activity Center 212: Using your phone or other camera, learn to capture photos of wildlife and take a field trip to practice your skills. Location: TBD, likely Riverbend Ponds or another local riparian zone natural area.

Where: Poudre Trail. Park at the tennis courts at Lee Martinez Park and follow the paved trail west until you come to a small beach on the north side of the trail. Program Description: All ages welcome! Use dip nets and collecting trays to discover what lives beneath the surface of the Cache la Poudre River. Biologists will be on hand to help identify your finds. All dip netting equipment is provided. Spanish language programming offered from 11am - noon. Accessibility: Program takes place almost entirely on a paved bike trail easily accessible to any mobility devices. Up to 1 mile, round trip. Bathrooms available near the Lee Martinez Park playground. Join our inaugural group of garden volunteers helping to maintain and beautify the garden around Annie the Railroad Dog’s garden and the newly seeded detention basin at Transfort’s Downtown Transit Center. We welcome adult volunteers of all abilities, no horticultural experience necessary. Gloves, tools and water are provided. While no special skills are required, the role will require bending, kneeling, stooping and navigating uneven surfaces. Through a 2025 Nature in the City grant, Transfort and Planning Services refreshed the garden around Annie the Railroad Dog’s historic grave. New irrigation was installed and the garden was planted with low-water-use pollinator species. The detention basin was re-seeded in the fall of 2025 and will need regular maintenance to allow the native plants and grasses to establish. The garden volunteers will help ensure these newly refreshed spaces function as designed and allow the plants to establish. This will benefit pollinators and the local community, serving as a naturalized space in the urban downtown corridor. Key Responsibilities: Garden maintenance including weeding, planting, and irrigation. General garden upkeep.

Meet the librarians and the Book Bike at the small parking lot at the west end of Hemlock street. *This program is a partner program run by the Poudre River Public Library District. You must register at their website: https://poudrelibraries.librarycalendar.com Your little ones will discover flowers, bugs, tracks, and more in this slow-paced exploratory walk and storytime in the city's beautiful Natural Areas. Registration is required and space is limited. For ages 1-3. Parents/guardians must be present at all times.
